A Little About Me

I was born in 1972 and graduated from Jasper High School in 1991. I have been married since June 1996 and became a father in October 2006. I have been employed with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice since October 1993. I began as a correctional officer and currently I am an Industrial Specialist in the bus repair facillity at the Ellis Unit in Huntsville, TX. I have been involved in archery since the age of 15. I worked part-time during my high school years at a local sporting goods shop learning the basics of archery and tuning bows. I began shooting 3D archery tournaments around the age of 16. I shot local tournaments for several years, then due to a career change, I was unable to continue tournament shooting. In 2002, I made a career change and was able to start shooting tournaments again. As I did in my younger years, I started out shooting local 3D tournaments for approximately three years, then moved to indoor and outdoor tournaments in 2004-2005 and have been shooting indoor and outdoor tournaments since that point in the Adult Male Freestyle division. In 2007-2008, I began shooting the Pro Division.

Some of my accomplishments include 2007 NFAA National Indoor Champion (Adult Male Freestyle), 2009 NFAA National Indoor Champion (Pro Male Freestyle), 2011 and 2012 World Archery Festival Shoot-off, with a 4th place finish in 2012. I have also had success in the 3D world with wins or placements at ASA events. I have won at the local, regional and state level and hold state records for indoor and outdoor events.
